There seems to be differing opnions as to under what folder you need to put your mp3 or whatever other format you want to use as custom ringtone, notification etc (e.g. one says sdcard/media/audio/ringtones/ another says sdcard/ringtones) and neither worked for me.
Does anyone know how to get my own mp3s to show up under setting when I want to pick the ringtone or notification sounds?

Went through the cookbook:
1. Rooted
2. Unlocked bootloader
3. installed recovery (VZWGS3_EZ-Recovery2.2.apk
4. copied CleanRom 5.5.1.zip to sdcard
Boot into recovery - clean cache, data etc (did it a couple of times)
When I "apply update from external storage" and select the CleanRom 5.5.1.zip I get:

Hi - moving over from iPhone, getting to know (understand) android.
Want: set up personal ringtone
Problem: lots of help online and all say... move the desired mp3 to \system\media\notifications but... can't find a folder "system", can't find a folder "media"

I have my preferred ringtone in /SD Card/Media/Ringtones/song.mp3
I've rebooted and rebooted the phone and used "Media Scanner" from the Play store to refresh the media on the sd card so that the system will recognize they are there. Yet the mp3 in the Ringtones folder does NOT show up in the ringtones list. At one point (when I was rooted) it showed up fine.
This has happened to me twice now. All of the sudden, my photos don't show up in gallery at all. They still show in QuickPic however. Also, my notification tone and ringtones change to some unknown ringtone. My ringtones are still in my ringtones folder though. I restored about 2 weeks ago when this 1st happened, and now it's happened again. Any ideas why?
I decided to give CleanROM a try. Prior to this I had unlocked my bootloader and put CM10 nightlies on my One X. I am planning to modify a Motorola lapdock to use with my One X, but CM10's HDMI out is broken.
The cleanrom instructions just say to use TeamWin (which I have installed), and to wipe + install their zip.
What can we stock users expect from a custom rom like cleanrom?
Is it really that much faster?
Will the input lag be solved ? Because now my tablet takes a few seconds to catch up with what i wrote.
I get a lot freezes where applications hang.
Hey All, I have noticed that my boot animation, running CleanRom, has gone to the cleanrom (different) one. At one point I think it was still giving me the stock samsung one. Is this an issue I should worry about fixing, or no?
