I'm in the process of setting up Windows 7 deployment through PXE boot, with Microsoft SCCM 2012. The imaging itself works very well, but I have a question about the logic behind PXE deployments.
My setup is the following:
My Windows 7 deployment task sequence is deployed to the unknown computers group.
When using a Task Sequence to reimage a PC, is it possible to restart the Task Sequence if an error occurs during one of the steps from where it failed?
The only other options that I'm aware of are to restart the whole Task Sequence, duplicate the Task Sequence and remove the steps that completed, or run the rest of the programs manually. None of those are great options!
hi,
First, thanks to take a look at this article !
Kindly thanks to your advice and comment in advance.

Allright, my purpose is => To use PXELINUX to deployment windows OS + Linux OS
i've setup a Desktop with windows 2008 server R2 and can successfully desploy
windows 7 and windows 8 with windows WADK toolkit.
I'm setting up an image for a webserver. I have a script on the server that fetches the latest source code for an application from a repository and does all the configuration necessary for deployment. This script is to be run by the unprivileged user for deployment.
Right now:
1. System boots
2. Apache starts
3. I log in, run my script, and restart apache
What I want:
1.
I am new to Citrix and am thinking of proposing a Citrix solution for our home and remote office workers. My question is regarding deployment and licensing. To allow the clients to have remote application deployment via Citrix XenApp do we need to buy anything in addition to the Citrix XenApp and Windows Server 2008? Is there additional Citrix software/licensing that is required?
My Team Foundation Server creates backups. I want to clear backups that are older than 5 days. Create Maintenanace Cleanup Task in Maintenance Plans of Management of Sql Server 2012. Point there folder, file extension bak, checkbox 'Delete files based on the age of the file at task run time' is checked. Saved task.
When I execute it, got error: Execution failed.
I'm trying to write, in essence, an automatic deployment script for use by our development team and I know I can set up SSH to use keys so that I can automatically authenticate via key instead of password for the purposes of executing remote commands; however, what I'm stuck on is that the task that needs to execute for deployment requires us to restart an upstart job which requires root privilege
I have 2 machines where one of them contains the Hudson CI and other JBoss 7 AS. In Hudson, I have installed "Deploy Plugin", created new job and filled required JBoss manager user connection fields. When I run the job, the project successfully built however the deployment process to remote JBoss AS is not being triggered. No errors or messages about the deployment in log.
I have a small confusion about the differences between the 2 types of set ups:
When deploying using Add Roles and Features the Wizard requests to choose from one of two Deployment Scenarios:
Virtual machine-based desktop deployment : Virtual machine-based desktop deployment allows users to connect to virtual desktop collections that include published RemoteApp programs and virtual desktops.
