http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I get the following error in /var/log/mcelog: Code: Mon Nov 30 05:29:29 2009 HARDWARE ERROR. This is *NOT* a software problem! Please contact your hardware vendor CPU 1 BANK 5 MCG status: MCi status: Error overflow Uncorrected error Error enabled Processor context corrupt MCA: BUS Generic Generic Generic Other-transaction Request-timeout Error BQ_DCU_READ_TYPE BQ_ERR_HARD_TYPE BQ_ERR_HARD_TYPE received parity error on response transaction MCE driven MCE is observed STATUS f200001030000e0f MCGSTATUS 0 CPUID Vendor Intel Family 6 Model 15 Comparing the dates of the errors and yum history suggests that certain kernels are generating this error. However, the message is very explicit that this is NOT a software error. All 21 errors in mcelog are the same type, but not always from the same CPU, and have occurred since Oct. 30. The last one occured on Nov. 30, and there was a kernel update on Dec. 1. Other breaks in the reported error coincide with kernel updates, as well. Does anybody have any idea what is going on here? dd_wizard (HowTos)
