I have a Logitech Trackman Marble (also known as a MarbleMouse), which lacks a middle button. Previously, I have emulated a middle-click by clicking with both left and right buttons. This works great under KDE Plasma.
However, I am sick unto death of Plasma, and recently switched back to OpenBox.
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my new Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 M772DGE.
Unfortunately the right mouse button is not working correctly. Every mouse button click is interpreted as a left mouse button click.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the synaptics (xserver-xorg-input-synaptics) drivers, but the problem is still present.
What else can I do?
Does anyone know how to set mouse button mapping code in Kubuntu?
I apologise if this is any easy fix.
Its a plug in and play mouse.
I am running Kubuntu 12.04, my mouse is a "Mionix Naos 5000".
I am using it at my work and all buttons work perfectly apart from middle scroll wheel click.
In Firefox, middle mouse button/wheel has been assigned "Open link in new tab" action for a while now, by default.
Since I ran Software Update tonight, this action doesn't work in Firefox anymore. To be specific, middle mouse click doesn't open links anymore.
My system is fine but I wanted to refine the ease of use.
Google chrome has a nice feature in Ubuntu that you can switch tabs by mouse scrolling while your mouse is in the tab-bar. And a nice feature that you can middle click close tabs in the tab-bar.
How can I generate the middle click as the touchpad has an associated button with two options left and right for clicks. In windows that is solved easily: two finger tap means middle click. How can I find a work-around for Linux?
I have a mouse with a trackball on it (like this, comfortable for your hand :)).
But it means I have no middle mouse button, instead I have two extra buttons on the left and the right.
I seem to remember that there was a way to hold down the middle mouse button and have it bring up the workplace switcher, then twitch the mouse in the direction of the workspace you wanted.
The UI when the middle button was clicked was identical to the way Precise now performs CTRL+SHIFT+arrow moves, but using the mouse is quicker. Is this still possible in Precise?
