I have a Microsoft-Explorer-Mini-Mouse (which happens to be a good product on Windows)

however Ubuntu only recognizes it as a generic mouse with know thumb (back) button or tilt wheel.
I just bought a new mouse - just a cheapie usb wheel mouse but it has an extra 'thumb' button which I thought I might as well set up to do something useful.
I used 'xev' to determine the numbers that the OS had assigned to the buttons, and I found it wasn't quite what I was expecting:
left = 1
wheel-as-button = 2
right = 3
wheel-up = 4
wheel-down = 5

I thought the right button would b
Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 for a while and after I reinstall it my mouse is not functioning quite well! The G500 has 10 buttons on it and it used to work fine before reinstalling unbuntu 10.10.
It does work up to the "back" and "forward" side thumb buttons... the third one doesn't work, even though has been working under the event grab test! Any Ideas???
I am using a HP NK527AA Wireless mouse with two side buttons.
His mouse wheel is half broken: I can scroll but I can't click it.
In windows I configured the side buttons as 3rd mouse button but unfortunately the only available drivers are for windows.
Ubuntu treats the side-buttons as back\forward buttons and it's really annoying.
Is there a way to configure the buttons if though the is no drive
Hi, I have a 5 button mouse and the 4th and 5th buttons are useful for skipping back or forwards while surfing with Firefox. It would be nice if I could skip back in Nautilus too, but it doesn't work. (Alt+LeftArrow & Alt+RightArrow as keybord equivalent)
Is there a possibility to use this buttons in Nautilus too?
Hope someone can help me. Thanks a lot! :)
I would like to map "Back" button (xev shows it as "button 7") of my mouse (A4Tech X-7) to act as a middle mouse button. Is there a way to do this? I'm lost in google, finding only how to map buttons to keyboard shortcuts with xbindkeys and etc.
OS: Centos 6.3 (x86_64)
DE: KDE 4.3.4
P.s.

Hi Everyone,
I am hoping someone out there can help with this issue in Ubuntu 11.10 running Gnome3-shell. Here is the synopsis.
I recently bought a Logitech M705 Mouse and want to get the thumb button (b:10) to act as the super key. I have the following line in my .xbindkeysrc.
#Activities Button
"xte 'key Super_L'"
b:10
but is doesn't seem to work.
