I added a new line in /etc/fstab and when I start my vmware machine (CENTOS )an error message displays to me :
if i can't modify my file '/etc/fstab'
if i want to execute "startx" to display my desktop:
My machine is stuck. I have made a mistake in fstab which causes the boot to hang (stop). "An error occurred during the file system check". I am using F11. I am asked for my root password, which I enter and get to the # prompt. I vi /etc/fstab but can't save changes to the file.
I have read many questions and answers in this and other forums before asking. I watched videos on Youtube to learn how to deal with the fstab file too.
So forgive me for bringing back this doubt again.
When I start may computer, soon after I choose Linux in Grub, my screen turns black and Ubuntu does not start.
I am learning about ACLs and am trying to change the /etc/fstab file though I get an error when I try to mount it.

This is /etc/fstab:
# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
# Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a
# device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices
# that works even if d
I have one laptop and one desktop which are both Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
I have installed openssh-server on my desktop
and I'm able to launch X11 via ssh from my laptop
XServer of the laptop displays applications of my desktop with no problem
But When I try to execute startx X window starts not at laptop but at desktop
Of course I connected ssh with -XYv options
