Mandriva has announced on November 7, through Per Øyvind Karlsen, that the second Alpha version of the upcoming Mandriva Linux 2012 operating system is now available for download and testing. Mandriva Linux 201 Alpha 2 wasn't supposed to exist, according to its developers. The initial plan was to skip the second alpha and go straight for the first beta.
The second alpha release of Mandriva Linux 2010.1 is now available for download and testing: "The time has came for the second alpha release for the 2010.1 version of Mandriva Linux. As this is an early pre-release, major changes are mostly in the area of included third-party software.
The first Alpha edition of Mandriva Desktop 2012 has been released. Behind schedule by almost two months, it is fittingly code-named Tenacious Underdog. The first Technical Preview, code-named Bernie Lomax, was released back in May, and the next pre-release version, which is due by early October, will likely be the first Beta.
After a slight delay, the first alpha build of the upcoming Mandriva 2011 has been released. Mandriva 2011 Alpha 1 comes with all the major components and new features expected to land in the stable release. due to a huge number of big changes in Mandriva 2011 so far, combined with rpm5 migration both in the repositories and inside the build system, we have decided to shift the release dates for Mandriva 2011 by two weeks, to give us a better time period to fit the remaining pieces.
