Despite the fact that I'm only learning how to program, I still have already developed preferences towards syntax highlighting. Does anyone know how I can make my own color scheme for Geany?

I've been wanting to make my own syntax-highlighting scheme for GTK source view, mainly to use in Anjuta/GEdit, but I have no experience with xml. I've tried making one with the Scribe Theme Generator, but the highlighting options are just too limited for me. I'm already trying to get the hang of xml and making a color scheme from scratch, but I still feel unsure.
So I have my computer set up just the way I want, with gnome 3 in my favorite color scheme, and the terminal in a matching background/text color scheme. Even the login screen has my Desktop background.
However it is a little jarring when I shut down/use grubby and its in the default maroon and white scheme.
I know how to change my color scheme in Vista. What I despair about is that after I change it, if I switch to another scheme (such as back to Aero), my customized scheme is gone. If I want, I can take another 30 minutes to customize it so it doesn't burn out my eyes. Is there any way to save this scheme?
