Maia, A Sci-Fi Game Inspired by Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper

Maia is a procedural, Dungeon Keeper inspired 3D space management game being developed by indie game developer Simon Roth.

The game is about building an underground colony to protect space dwellers from the dangers of the surface, with mining and construction.

Maia is a management simulator in which the players have to provide the necessary means for a space colony.

The game is inspired by the ’90s god games, like the ones developed by the famous Peter Molyneux, but it also takes advantage of more recent gameplay mechanics.

According to the developer, in 2113 the human race began its first extra solar colonization program.

The game was recently put on Kickstarter to fund further development. So far the game has raised $94K  with 16 days to go while the actual target was only $10K.
