It is blocking eMule and I cannot disable the firewall in MCC. Bug has been filed on Firewall blocking everything.
Anybody got any ideas of a work around?
I have a MacBook Pro with the firewall on. I'm trying to run a Wireshark trace and the noise bleeding through Apple's firewall is very distracting. According to the image below, most of this noise is supposed to be blocked.
In practice, I'm finding a lot of Bonjour/mDNS/uPNP traffic getting through.
Blocking Facebook Web Trackers At The Firewall For Extra Privacy
If you've spent any time examining the network traffic to and from your web browser, you will notice the prolific number of trackers embedded in the pages. There are some add-ons to the web browsers that aid in privacy, but it is simple enough to block the rogue sites at the firewall.
I'm using F17 (XFCE spin, if it somehow matters). I have disabled SELinux and turned off the firewall using the GUI front end, but I still get "access denied" when trying to connect to Samba shares and NFS shares, and other things like the weather panel applet also can't connect to the internet.
My Home Network is small but I have an old PC just sitting around and I've been wanting some sort of a Real Deal Hardware Firewall. Beyond that which exists on my Belkin N750DB Router. I have an old wireless router(Netgear WNR2000) and PC (ASUS P5Q Deluxe, E8600,4GB Ram lots of storage ect) I'd like to be able to have a Home Server as well as a hardware firewall for DHCP,DNS,NAT,Ad Blocking.
Firstly, for a home PC, behind a router isit important to install/configure a firewall?
If so, how do I do it? I have lamp-server installed as I'm a web developer. I may want my other PC's on LAN to access my files or web pages, ssh in (maybe in the future), but not from outside. How can I configure this?
