I am confused how MAAS (Metal as a service) is different from Cloud? What is the difference or similarities between MAAS and openstack, are they both same or different
I am trying to install OpenStack using MAAS and juju but I can't get any nodes added into the MAAS system. I am doing this all on top of VMware vSphere 5.1. I have created the MAAS server with 4 NICs. 1 NIC is on my management network to allow me web access to MAAS from my laptop and it is on a 10.10.10.0/24 network.
I've installed MAAS and Openstack as guided by
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuCloudInfrastructure, however on step 5 it states:
if you are using this to deploy OpenStack on a IaaS for testing
purposes, the last step is to expose the services that should be made
available to outside requests, opening the required firewall ports in
According to Ubuntu deployment of MAAS is easy like 123 but today is my 6th day I am trying to add physical node in my MAAS cluster. I wanted to try Ubuntu MAAS, JUJU and Openstack and I did everything whatever mentioned on Ubuntu Wiki and other websites but Ubuntu MAAS seems like a technology from MARS.
I am trying to set up openstack on my mac mini which has 16gb of ram and 500GB HD. I have followed the following guide to install MAAS, but I am stuck at the juju bootstrapping because I have no additional machines to add to MAAS:
