Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) has unveiled a Big Data Solutions training and certification program for the HP Vertica Analytics Platform. The idea is to train IT executives to leverage structured, semistructured and unstructured data.
So how is safety-criticality achieved with software? "For safety-critical systems, the software platforms (i.e. operating systems) have to be fault tolerant, and also be able to mitigate and deal with any faults that occur at the application level," says Robert Day, VP of Marketing at LynuxWorks, an Affiliate member of the Intel[R] Embedded Alliance.
Although LynxSecure is not specifically an anti-virus software or malware detection program, it does essentially "perform malware containment." In other words, if malware affects one operating system (OS) or real-time operating system (RTOS) running on one of the Intel cores, LynxSecure prevents it from infecting the other operating systems, he adds.
I may be forced into a career change in the future and am trying to plan ahead a little. I havent really decided what road to go down, but Im thinking that Linux certification may be useful in many fields and so might be worth the time and money investment. (Plus I get to learn more about Linux:P) So, for the professionals out there, I have some questions.
