LynuxWorks Engineering Executive to Present at Multicore Expo and Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley

Arun Subbarao, vice president of engineering at LynuxWorks[tm], Inc., a world leader in embedded software, will present a paper on the challenges of multicore processor design on March 19 at Multicore Expo 2009

The Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC) today announced that LynuxWorks has joined the consortium's Hypervisor Subcommittee, which has unanimously elected Arun Subbarao, vice president of engineering at LynuxWorks, to serve as its chair.

LynuxWorks will be demonstrating its latest LynxSecure 3.0, a next-generation separation kernel and embedded hypervisor designed for high-assurance systems.

McObject has ported its eXtremeDB Kernel Mode (KM) embedded database to LynuxWorks' BlueCat Embedded Linux 5.6 operating system.

Intel Embedded Alliance recognizes LynxSecure for utilizing Intel's virtualization technology and allowing developers to fully leverage the power of multicore architecture.

So how is safety-criticality achieved with software? "For safety-critical systems, the software platforms (i.e. operating systems) have to be fault tolerant, and also be able to mitigate and deal with any faults that occur at the application level," says Robert Day, VP of Marketing at LynuxWorks, an Affiliate member of the Intel[R] Embedded Alliance.

The final agenda has been posted for the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley 2011, scheduled for May 2-5.
