lxdm and consolekit issue

I can't get ConsoleKit working with Slim (or XDM) and fluxbox.

I use systemd and kdm as login manager; my desktop is XFCE.Immediately after login, if I click the logout button applet in the xfce panel, I can access all the options (shutdown, reboot, etc).But sometimes, after a while during the session, the shutdown and reboot option simply disappear - only logout works.

I'm using lxdm with xfce. One System uses .xinitrc and create an logind session then working. Two other Systems doesn't and without an logind session I hasn't permission to suspend or mount devices. But I don't find the reason for this.

Hi archers,I am having issues logging out correctly through xfce4-session-logout.Logout sometimes lands me in LXDM (as expected) but some other times at a GUI-less terminal where I need to restart lxdm manually.Reboot consistently fails to reboot and either lands me in LXDM or asks me for authentication in order to proceed.Same if I use the command line, i.e.

Have you tried starting xfce without a display manager? Make sure that you have dbus in your DAEMONS array in rc.conf. Make sure your .xinitrc ends with:exec ck-launch-session startxfce4Then start xfce with 'startx'.

I had to reinstall xfce

but this time xfce did not appear automatically in the gdm login

Quick niggly problem, I recently switched to xfce desktop on my ubuntu install. First off I was unable to select the correct resolution for my monitor so I installed xrandr that fixed that problem. Since then however when I logon I get no display - just No signal.

My current quick fix is if i switch to tty1 crtl+alt+f1 then back to tty7 it works fine.

Thanks to the Arch Linux team for providing such a nice descriptive and useful forum through which any newbie can migrate to Arch Linux easily.I thought of installing XFCE as my Desktop environment as I was using the same previously.
