http://ubuntuforums.org – I have 2 systems running linux one (the pc) running linux mint 13 the other this laptop running ubuntu 12.04. This laptop is a toshiba satalite. I am trying to get this laptop running ubuntu onto the wireless hotspot to get on the internet. the hotspot acts as an ISP. The same with the pc running mint. Neither will go online through my mobil hotspot though when I first got the hotspot on my phone they did quite well. my windows systems will go online through the mobil hot spot. it seems to me it should be a matter of supplying the password as it is on any wifi. I'm need to use my laptop (with lubuntu 12.04) as a WiFi hotspot.

I created the wifi hotspot via "Create new wireless network" from the network connections menu.

The hotspot comes up and then disconnects. I can see this on my Android phone and tablet.

I'm using 12.10 on a Samsung Q45 laptop and cannot connect to one specific wifi hotspot where I work. This is the only hotspot that I cannot connect to. Every other hotspot I can connect to without any problem. If I use my Win7 Pro (64bit) laptop with my work hotspot then it connects immediately. Nobody else (they all use windows) has any problems connecting to the work hotspot.

Now while my other Android phones can connect to my laptop, they are still not able to connect to the internet.

My laptop is connected to the internet using ppp0 (mobile broadband) already.

Any workarounds to resolve

I have 2 wireless cards, internal & usb wifi. I am connected to the internet with my USB Wifi which means that my internal wifi is idle all the time. I want to hook up my ps3 to the net as well, but ps3 doesn't see the internet signal also it is too far to drag an ethernet cable from the router to the ps3. Thus I want to share via my laptop.
