It’s been a while since the buzz of the Open Source community has been wandering around Ubuntu and its various distro variants. Lubuntu, claimed to be a lighter version of Ubuntu, has now been officially recognised as a derivative of Ubuntu and will be released as Lubuntu 11.10 in October 2011.

Hello everyone.
I use Lubuntu on one desktop and Ubuntu on a laptop. Dropbox is my main cloud syncing service but I have created an Ubuntu One SSO account in order to backup my home folders.
At first, I was not able to use Ubuntu One on Lubuntu - after installing it from synaptics, when I tried to open it, nothing happens except opening a blank terminal window.

I just tried to install Lubuntu onto my old laptop but I am having some difficulties. I have searched online for help and believe that my problem is that I need to install video drivers but I have been unable to find a step by step for somebody like me - first time user.
Hi,
Installing Lubuntu 12.04 Full version for a couple hours now. Started off well for first 20 mins but now it's just a little wheel spinning away.
Read that the Core version might hang during install for 90 mins but we're well past that.
Did verify the CD & Lubuntu files good before starting the install.
Any help much appreciated.
thanks,

I managed to stumble up to the point where pings were working just fine with a direct connection through an ethernet cable, but now I have no idea how to access one computer's files from the other.
