[lubuntu] Unwanted browser auto-installation

http://ubuntuforums.org – Hi, Lubuntu 12.04 64bit I recently installed Chrome from a downloaded .deb package, it works fine, so removed Lubuntu's default browser Chromium with: Code: sudo apt-get autoremove --purge chromium-browser After confirming with 'Y' I walked off, later returning to find that Firefox had been automatically installed as a replacement! Upon trying to remove Firefox in the same way I notice that the terminal prompt is now telling me Epiphany must be installed? Hi All,

After installing Lubuntu I wanted to delete some unwanted programs, pretty standard fair.

I installed Lubuntu 12.10 on my laptop, but have decided to use Ubuntu instead. The problem is, I want to remove Lubuntu and am unable to.

I have just installed lubuntu-desktop on top of ubuntu 12.04. I understand that chromium is the default browser in lubuntu but I was expecting Firefox to show up under the Internet menu. It is installed in my computer, and it shows in the Lubuntu Software Center under installed applications but I cannot find it anywhere. How do I have it show up on the Internet menu?

I recently installed Lubuntu 13.04 on my Desktop. Earlier I had Lubuntu 11.10. I use chromium browser in it. Earlier print to file would work fine in it , the job would be done in less than 10 seconds.

Since the fresh install , I am not able to print pdfs. When I give the print command , the Chromium browser hangs.

I've just installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and I'm very impressed. I've just installed Google Chromium on the system because I prefer it to Firefox.

I was just wondering how I could go about making this my default browser. I've removed the Firefox icon from the launcher and replaced it with the Chromium one.

I'm using Google Chrome as default web-browser because i need Flash ang i've installed Firefox back to use with Webapps, because Chromium, that i tried to use before, launched through script, taking Pepper Flash from Chrome, isn't working correctly: Webapps are crashing, clicking on their icons in Launcher or in Messaging menu does nothing and by clicking on web-links from the other applications,

Since I use Chrome or Chromium and use Gmail for emails, I have no need for Thunderbird or Firefox. No problems removing Thunderbird but when I try to remove Firefox, it wants to install Epiphany and it's dependencies.

How do I just remove Firefox and leave Chrome as the only browser?

Problem:I installed google-chrome but somehow it would not set itself as the default browser (example: clicking a link in terminator opened firefox/iceweasel).After a long search here on the forums I found the solution(s) to my problem:I hope this works for others to..Howto:Find out where chrome is installed (in my case it is /usr/bin/google-chrome) but firefox seems to be in /opt/firefox/firefoxC

Have been trying yet again to remove an unwanted GoogleChrome web browser without any success.

I did try Code: sudo apt-get purge google chrome                           + sudo apt-get autoremove google chrome But all i get back is: Unable to locate package google Unable to locate package chrome
