Hi,
Abiword is problematic in Lubuntu 12.04, but works well in 12.10 (same version, 2.9.2).
Surely this means that the problem lies in 12.04 rather than Abiword.

Every time I click a URL within Kmail it tries to open the link in abiword.
I've verified my preferred browser is Chromium and also tested with a preferred browser of Firefox and Google Chrome.
I also tried changing from plain text to html and it still launches using abiword.
Not sure what else to try here.
:confused::confused::confused::confused:
I can't use the scroll wheel in abiword ver 2.9.2. Evidently this is a well know problem. The advice is to downgrade to abiword ver 2.8.6.
Two questions.
Will I lose any functionality on downgrading?
How can I downgrade?
If it matters, I have Lubuntu 12.04 on a pendrive.
Tnanks
I tried to find solution but I just couldn't. Does anyone of you know how to fix this problem?
When I try to watch videos on YouTube, Chromium says "couldn't load plugin".
There was flashplugin-installer already installed , but I reinstalled it, and Chromium(it did't help).
Hi,
Lubuntu 12.04 64bit
I recently installed Chrome from a downloaded .deb package, it works fine, so removed Lubuntu's default browser Chromium with:
Code:
sudo apt-get autoremove --purge chromium-browser
After confirming with 'Y' I walked off, later returning to find that Firefox had been automatically installed as a replacement!
Hello, I don't want either LibreOffice or Abiword on one of my Ubuntu (12.04) boxes. When I try to uninstall LibreOffice then apt-get automatically installs Abiword. Of course, Synaptic and Aptitude do the same, while dpkg simply refuses to remove several core LibreOffice packages because of certain ridiculous dependencies based off Gnome. This just doesn't seem right.
Hi Lubuntu people
If you use the GTK lubuntu theme in Chromium - Lubuntu 12.10 the refresh icon just doesnt look very good - pixelated square with rounded edges type thing
-- refer screenshot below
Whoever maintain the theme - can the refresh icon be enhanced - say a circle instead of a square with circle corners
Thanks again - great work on lubuntu 12.10!!!!!
Cheers
Justin
Hi All,
After installing Lubuntu I wanted to delete some unwanted programs, pretty standard fair.
I have Abiword 2.9.2 and would like to either upgrade to 2.9.4, or downgrade so that I will have a fully functioning word processing programme.
I have found two difficulties.
1. I can download a version of Abiword form their website into Downloads, but after extracting I cannot move the file into the Office folder. It just moves back to Downloads.
