Yesterday I installed lubuntu 12.10 on a USB stick, but it is not persistent. That seems to be a typical error and there is a fix that involves editing the file txt.cfg.

I recently made a virgin install of 12.04LTS on my HP machine--no other OS is present other than Ubuntu. I note that I now have three different "Terminals" installed. This is running Gnome Classic.
Terminal 1. Applications>Accessories>Terminal
Terminal 2. Applications>System Tools>UXTerm
Terminal 3.
I've just installed my laptop with a fresh Ubuntu 9.10. I've tried both 32bit and 64bit.
Just after the install, i log in, take a system update (about 120Mb), and reboot. Then i go system -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers, and install the Nvidia driver package. I've tried both the 173/185, and I've also downloaded and installed the newest 190 driver from the Nvidia site.
Hi,
I seem to be having quite a lot of trouble making a new shortcut key for an application in /usr/bin/ .
I had windows 7 starter on a gateway notebook and I completely deleted that partition and created a new partition and installed ubuntu 11.10 onto it.
I have gconf tools and dconf tools installed and I cannot for the life of me make this shortcut key work.

Just installed Lubuntu last night on my netbook. Everything is running fine and working well, except the ALT+F2 run window will always pop up underneath the currently opened window (but above all other open windows).
I like to use CTRL-ALT + Numpad-keys to align 4 terminal windows on one monitor (One in each corner of the screen). Is there a way (shortcut) to quickly make a particular one active for typing without clicking the window active with the mouse?
