[lubuntu] Problem removing pre-installed apps from Lubuntu desktop

http://ubuntuforums.org – I've just recently started using Lubuntu. The first time I installed the 'minimal' system (from 'Minimal CD) and then installed the Lubuntu desktop on top. At that time I had no problem removing certain of the pre-installed applications (Pidgin, Penguin games etc) that I did not particularly need. In the process of attempting to resize some partitions (evidently the wrong way) I messed up and decided to start again (new partition table) and re-install the full system. This time I installed Lubuntu directly from the Lubuntu ISO 'Live' CD. All went fine except that now I find that whatever p (Hardware)

Hello guys, I have a problem with my mother's Windows 7 netbook. Some time ago I installed Lubuntu on it, but I didn't really use it, so I decided to remove it.

Last night I installed Lubuntu 11.10 on my desktop PC, before that I only had Ubuntu 11.10, but now I have a "Dual-Boot" PC, with GRUB. The problem, I want to uninstall Lubuntu because it doesn't liked to me :(

I tried to do that on Lubuntu's Live-CD GParted, but it has partitions that I don't know.

I've just installed Lubuntu 12.10 on an old laptop (IBM ThinkPad 600X). However, after booting Lubuntu, everything looks like in negative (eg. colors are inverted, like there's some assistive technology enabled). During installation (using alternative installer), colors were OK. Before installing Lubuntu, I had windows installed, it was showing colors OK as well.

Hi, I have the following problem: the installation of Lubuntu 12.10 stops in the second step. What is? The second step is where it says you are connected to the Internet, the disk space you have and present the options to selected third-party downloads and/or restricted.

I have just installed lubuntu-desktop on top of ubuntu 12.04. I understand that chromium is the default browser in lubuntu but I was expecting Firefox to show up under the Internet menu. It is installed in my computer, and it shows in the Lubuntu Software Center under installed applications but I cannot find it anywhere. How do I have it show up on the Internet menu?

Hi Guys,

Just looking for someone who runs LUBUNTU all the time.. I have a question...

I have a very old DELL Optiplex gx280 and was running XUBUNTU it has 512 mb ram and 40 gig hardrive..

I noticed on xu.... It would try to lock up so I did an in place upgrade (( SUDO APT-GET INSTALL LUBUNTU-DESKTOP ) and so far so well...

Just wondering.. Is Lubuntu safe for use full time?

Previously, I had in this Windows installed on this computer, but then I installed lubuntu. There are two HDDs in this computer, and I installed lubuntu in the other, which I had split into two partitions. The partitions which didn't have lubuntu, were formated as ntfs and had some videos on other stuff and they did work properly in lubuntu.

Ok, I installed Xubuntu 11.10 on my Toshiba Satalite C50 dual booted with windows 7. After that I eventually installed the KDE desktop and the Lubuntu Desktop after KDE. When I rebooted the boot screen said lubuntu instead of Xubuntu and the login screen is now the lubuntu login screen instead of the xubuntu one.

Here is my problem, I can't seen to get past the Lubuntu login screen.

i recently installed lubuntu on an old dell d600 that was just sitting. and when the lubuntu installer finished it gave the restart option which i choose and let it do it's work but after it went past the dell loading screen the lcd turned off and did nothing more.
