Installing lubuntu-11.10-alternate-amd64.iso on AMD A4-3400 on ASUS F1a75-V PRO (alternate used to setup full disk encryption, works very well thanks!) the sound from ALC892 simply doesn't work, though alsamixer etc shows it's there.
So I tried some live USB sticks to test the connections etc:
linuxmint-201109-xfce-dvd-64bit.iso sound works fine instantly (can't use Mint because no FDE)
xubuntu-1
Having some sound problems with my Samsung N120 Netbook.
I'm using the new Lubuntu 12.10.
If I e.g. play a youtube video the sound is on, but if I try to play another one, there is no sound at all. Same problem with other "sound sources" like mp3.
The only thing I can do, is to boot the machine :(
I am having problem with the installation of Lubuntu 11.10 .
Hello everyone, I recently got a toshiba satellite c855d-s5105, and while after turning off UEFI and secureboot worked and Lubuntu installed I've found that there is no sound. I believe the built in sound card is a realtek ALC2269VB. Are there any fixes that could get the sound to work? Sorry, and thanks in advance.
hi
Im running ubuntu 12.04 as a fresh update and found that ther is no sound playing. later found that there is no sound card displaying in the system setting sound menu. Also when i logged in as guest sound works properly.

when I plugged a earphone i can hear sound but cannot be controlled by the system.
Hi there. I've googled around a bit and searched over the forums but haven't been able to find anything to help my issue.
I just installed Lubuntu 11.10 x64 on my Thinkpad x120e. Everything seems to work perfectly, with the exception of sound.
I have no sound whatsoever.
I installed lubuntu to see if I liked it. I have an old Acer Aspire 3000 and thought it might help.
Installing lubuntu has destroyed my sound. In ubuntu sound was good enough to stream lastfm at a decent volume.
I just installed Lubuntu 12.10 on my computer, and I can't get the sound to work. I right clicked on the speaker icon in the taskbar, and clicked "volume control settings". A screen tries to open up but immediately disappears. Must be a minor bug in the system somewhere. My question is, is there a way to adjust sound settings from the terminal? If so, what command do I use? Thanks!
I'm running lubuntu (12.04) with Fluxbox window manager. Sound was working fine and and could view and hear all streaming content on Youtube and the news media sites. Decided to install VLC and its associated codecs so followed steps 10,12 and 13 on this page :

After re-booting I found that there was no sound.
