I have a friend with an old, still-working laptop that wants to switch to linux. (Dell Inspiron 7000 PII) I loaded Lubuntu because it's an old machine and has only 512MB of memory. The laptop has no built-in ethernet or wireless. As the title says, he has an EC2T card with it. I've tried to get lubuntu to recognize the card but it's a no-go.
hello everyone
i've got a noob question that ive been searching on forums amd google for. i have an ati radeon hd 4850 card and i want to install the drivers for lubuntu 12.10.
If anyone can give me guidance that'd be awesome thanks in advance!
Been using Lubuntu 12.04 for a while, works great except for one small bug. Everytime I open the lid of my laptop from sleep, it automatically opens my SD Card folder. I have a dead harddrive, so I am booting from an 8GB USB stick and added an 8GB SD card for extra storage.
I am a new user of Ubuntu. I have a Dell Latitude D610 that previously ran Windows XP (slowly). I tried out Lubuntu 12.10 using a DVD Boot disk, and liked it so I installed it.
The installation and various updates worked very well (slick!).
I have an ATI Mobility Radeon X300 video card.
Only one thing does not work: the S-Video output.
I'm a new Lubuntu. I'm not sure if this is normal... Any comments to assist would be greatly appreciated.
No sound card is detected in my fresh installation of Lubuntu 12.10 (32-bit alternate disk image). (I've also tried Lubuntu 12.04, 32-bit alternate disk image, also without luck. This is my first Linux installation on a system and I am excited to try this out.
I'm planning to install Lubuntu 12.10 (32-bit) on the following PC. Will it work or is the hardware too old?
CPU: Intel Celeron 2.0GHz
RAM: 512MB
GPU: GeForce 4 MX 440 with AGP8x
I'm especially worried that the GPU won't have drivers. The computer is used by my parents to surf the web, so if it can play Flash video, everything is fine.
I installed Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit in my Dell N5110 and i had a major problem my screen flashes all the time especially
when i open mozilla and other applications ,i get a message "Gpu Hang",what can i do about that?
Video Card - Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics
Vendor Name Intel Corporation
Interface PCI
Video Card Chip Type Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
Video Card Memory 2.77
Hello,
I recently purchased a video camera that will be arriving tomorrow and it needs an SD card due to it's lack of internal memory. I didn't think this would be a problem because I have a Sandisk 4gb sdhc that would work fine, Except....
For the past 7 months all this card has done is hold a copy of the ubuntu distro.
I had a system running 12.04 with a Radeon HD4870, and had the monitors correctly setup.
