Since many programs that I need only work on XP, I need to install Windows XP on my 2 laptops but I can't use an optical drive, which makes using a USB the only option.
If it helps, I can tell you that I used to have Vista and Windows 7 on my 2 laptops but I clean installed Ubuntu 12.04 on one, and Lubuntu on the other.
Hello guys,
I have a problem with my mother's Windows 7 netbook. Some time ago I installed Lubuntu on it, but I didn't really use it, so I decided to remove it.
Hi,
I have the following problem: the installation of Lubuntu 12.10 stops in the second step. What is? The second step is where it says you are connected to the Internet, the disk space you have and present the options to selected third-party downloads and/or restricted.
I've just recently started using Lubuntu.
The first time I installed the 'minimal' system (from 'Minimal CD) and then installed the Lubuntu desktop on top.
Julien Lavergne has released Lubuntu 10.04, an Ubuntu-based distribution featuring the lightweight LXDE desktop: "Lubuntu 10.04 is now available for download. Lubuntu is an Ubuntu variant using the LXDE desktop. It's designed to be a lightweight and easy-to-use desktop environment.
I'm trying to install Lubuntu 13.04 on my Windows 8 machine. Specifically, the machine is an HP 2000 bf-69WM. This model came with a 64-bit installation of Windows 8, running with the UEFI boot system.
I installed Lubuntu for what I assume is fully, however when installing GRUB, the installer crashed. Using my LiveUSB, I managed to find that necessary files and folders were there.
This one has me pulling my hair out. I have a Asus Eee PC 1005ha, which I have set up dual boot with Windows 7 and Lubuntu 12.10 (btw, I've tried all the flavors of Ubuntu, in both their 12.04 and 12.10 incarnations, all show the same problem) with an Atheros ar9285 wireless adapter.
Hello Ubuntu Community,
I've read some posts in the forum, and some people have actually deleted their Windows OS. I haven't decided upon doing that yet, but I'm curious on how you do that. So, how do you delete windows?

Oh by the way, I replaced ubuntu with Lubuntu just yesterday. I heard from a friend the UI is a lot like Windows, and indeed it is.
The final version of Lubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail), an LXDE based Linux distribution, has been announced by Canonical.
