I noticed Lubuntu Software Center was updated several times recently and now it has stopped opening at all.
I found the FAQ/workaround item here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lu...er_not_working
& ran "lubuntu-software-center" with the following result
Code:
chris@Acer-desk:~$ lubuntu-software-center
(lubuntu-software-center:2633): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_containe

Hi all,
I'm totally new to Linux. I recently installed Lubuntu 12.04 on a 8 yrs old laptop and just love the performance.
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish. My primary computer is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with an attached external drive.
Hi all,
After the latest Java vulnerability debacle I decided to remove it completely from my system (lubuntu 12.04). I did this through the Lubuntu Software Centre. However, when I run Update Manager I still receive suggested important security updates for Java.
Anyone know why this happens?
Thanks.
Hello guys,
I have a problem with my mother's Windows 7 netbook. Some time ago I installed Lubuntu on it, but I didn't really use it, so I decided to remove it.
Hello everyone.
I'm having some difficulty with getting my printer to work with Lubuntu 12.04 Precise. In Ubuntu it's pretty easy, if long winded, just following the instructions from http://hplipopensource.com
I have done exactly the same in Lubuntu, and given lack of any other choice, when the instructions ask what Linux distribution I'm using I gave it Ubuntu.
Hi all,
Complete newbie to Linux here, just went through a bunch of crap to install EasyPeasy, had some issues and decided to go with a more recent distribution. I managed to get Lubuntu 12.04 installed with relative ease, however...
There is a red icon on my "toolbar" (not sure what the terms are for everything, haha) for updates, with a big grayed out error message on it.
Lubuntu crashed. had 11.04 & updated it thru to 12.04 & 12.04.1. It worked well till 6 days back; Crashed after note said "libsum 2 needs updating". Tried to do update via ubuntu & crashed. Won't nurse back.
Won't login. says, "Checking battery,,," Then churns. Using Ubu 12.04 live, could use firefox and send email. But cannot access files made by Lubuntu.
