Hi Guys,
Just looking for someone who runs LUBUNTU all the time.. I have a question...
I have a very old DELL Optiplex gx280 and was running XUBUNTU it has 512 mb ram and 40 gig hardrive..
I noticed on xu.... It would try to lock up so I did an in place upgrade (( SUDO APT-GET INSTALL LUBUNTU-DESKTOP ) and so far so well...
Just wondering.. Is Lubuntu safe for use full time?
Ok i dont realy know what im doing. i have a load of eee PCs that i want to install Lubuntu on I have used the universal usb installer to run from usb. installing Lubuntu 11.10 alternate os. i plug in the usb turn on pc enter setup set os install status to start, set boot disck order to usb then reboot.
I have An Acer Aspire 1362 Laptop with AMD Sompron 2800+ processor and only 256MB RAM, with Windows XP installed. I have downloaded Lubuntu-12.04-alternate-i386.iso and installed it to a 16GB USB stick. I do not want to install Lubuntu on my hard drive (yet!).
I have got the USB stick to boot, and am working my way through the menu.
I am trying to install Lubuntu in an HCL Computer with the following specifications.
Intel Celeron M
214MB RAM
80GB HDD
I used the Alternate Installer and followed through the following steps:
Selected Install Lubuntu
Selected Language, Location and Keyboard settings
Now it asked me for rt2561.bin firmware for the wireless card to be installed through a USB.
Hi there, I am just wondering if it is possible to do an OEM Install of Lubuntu 12.04 since I need to prepare an old laptop for a new home.
I have followed this guide and downloaded a Lubuntu 12.04 alternate CD. Unfortunately, this guide is fairly outdated and I can no longer see the option to "Prepare for end-user configuration".
I have tried twice to install Lubuntu 12.04 on my Asus 900 netbook. I did it using the lubuntu-12.04-alternate-i386.iso image, which I put on a USB stick using UNetbootin. I ran the install twice, once connected to internet and once not.
I am having problem with the installation of Lubuntu 11.10 .
First post!! ):P
I am trying to install lubuntu onto an LG laptop model LS50e (quite old!) It has a Celeron M Processor 1.5GHz, 40GB hard drive and 238(?)MB RAM.
I boot from the CD and (after the gfxboot error), the "trial" screen comes up.
All is good so far..
When I press the "Install Lubuntu 12.10" button, the machine goes off and seems to try to install the program.
hi all, i'm new to the whole Ubuntu/ Lubuntu OS.
I have an old dell laptop so i decided to install ubuntu on it. I then ran in to graphics card problems and it would boot to the desktop sometimes but overall didn't work well. So i decided to go for Libuntu.
