I have a Dell Inspiron 4000, 900 Mhz Pentium III, 192 MB RAM,10.1 GB disk running Lubuntu 12.04. When I start the computer, and I check the display resolution, Monitor Settings claims that the max resolution is 1024x768.
Hi there,After an update of my system, I've discovered a particular issue: when plugin a second screen via HDMI, my laptop screen display gets kind of shaking, like if the frequency rate was not well set. But this concerns only the laptop monitor, the secondary monitor isn't affected by this issue.
Have a Dell Inspiron 1525 model pp29l core2 duo laptop, running 64 bit 12.04, that is connected to a 47" LG LED HDTV via HDMI cable. It generally runs great as a PC monitor. It is set up where the laptop monitor is off and only the HDTV is on, showing the 12.04 desktop.
Hello,
I've recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 32bit on my laptop. I use a 2nd monitor connected to my laptop and after installing & updating Ubuntu for the first time, I went to display settings to set the monitor as the main display and deactivated the laptop screen display.
I've got a Displaylink USB-HDMI adapter that I'd like to use to hook up an external monitor. My set up includes my laptop monitor, a monitor connected via HDMI, and this 3rd monitor through the Displaylink adapter.
I've done a ton of searching and haven't found any straight forward info.
I have been trying to connect my laptop to an external monitor (different resolutions). My idea was to setup the external monitor as a clone of the laptop screen.
In Ubuntu Quantal's display settings I can detect both displays but I can only setup as an expanded dual monitor.
The mirror option is visible but disabled.
Is there a way to "enable" mirror mode?
I was just playing with hardware on Ubuntu the other day, just by adding a second monitor (acer) to my laptop (dell vostro 1000). All went fine, some display settings worked out, other didn't (laptop could only handle the 1280x720 60hz setting, the acer screen could handle other screen resolutions and refreshrates).
Hey,
I just installed Ubuntu for the first time on my desktop (12.04) and am having some issues with my monitors. As it's probably important, i'll mention that i'm running an Asus GeForge GTX 670.
First problem is with my first monitor. It is detecting it as "Laptop" and allowing only two possible resolutions - 800 x 600 & 1024 x 768.
Greetings,
I am having trouble seeing any desktop after clean install. I'm not an expert (more of a noob than anything), but I've tried doing my reading and work on this as best I could. I'm hoping someone out there can help.
