Hi,
Lubuntu 12.04 64bit
I recently installed Chrome from a downloaded .deb package, it works fine, so removed Lubuntu's default browser Chromium with:
Code:
sudo apt-get autoremove --purge chromium-browser
After confirming with 'Y' I walked off, later returning to find that Firefox had been automatically installed as a replacement!
I've just recently started using Lubuntu.
The first time I installed the 'minimal' system (from 'Minimal CD) and then installed the Lubuntu desktop on top.
In my last review I considered Kubuntu 11.04 as an alternative to Ubuntu for disgruntled Ubuntu users. But there's another Ubuntu derivative that should be taken into consideration as well: Lubuntu 11.04.
Lubuntu uses the LXDE desktop environment, a much simpler and faster alternative to Unity, GNOME and KDE.
I have dist-upgraded to Lubuntu 12.10 and i have only the OpenBox desktop no Lubuntu menu and i can only right click for the menu on the desktop

Since the fresh install , I am not able to print pdfs. When I give the print command , the Chromium browser hangs.
The upcoming Lubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) operating system, due for release on October 13th, will introduce a new software center application. The Lubuntu Software Center is, of course, a clone of the popular Ubuntu Software Center (the old version), but designed to be lightweight, for the Lubuntu 11.10 Linux distribution. Lubuntu ... I've just installed Lubuntu 12.10 on an old laptop (IBM ThinkPad 600X). However, after booting Lubuntu, everything looks like in negative (eg. colors are inverted, like there's some assistive technology enabled).
During installation (using alternative installer), colors were OK. Before installing Lubuntu, I had windows installed, it was showing colors OK as well.
