[lubuntu] Can't login after Lubuntu 12.10 PPC install

http://ubuntuforums.org – I am trying to install lubuntu 12.1 PPC using the alt cd on an ibook g4. I've been having a few problems. First, when lubuntu boots it only boots to a black screen, my cursor is visible and brightness functions work but that's it, no login screen ever comes up. I tried logging in after pressing ctrl+alt+f1 but my login didn't work. I reinstalled thinking maybe I just forgot what password I put, and the problem occurred again, this time yaboot wasn't installed, but it won't even boot to a black screen, and when I try to login using ctrl+alt+f1 it just keeps telling me I have an invalid login de (Hardware)

I installed Lubuntu 12.10 PPC alt. install on my ibook g4, yaboot failed to install so I used the advice given in the PPC FAQ here, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCFAQ#I.27ve_lost_yaboot.2C_what_can_I_do.3F and I was able to boot to a black screen with and move the arrow but thats all, when trying to login by pressting ctrl+alt+f1 I kept getting "invalid" login.

Ok, I installed Xubuntu 11.10 on my Toshiba Satalite C50 dual booted with windows 7. After that I eventually installed the KDE desktop and the Lubuntu Desktop after KDE. When I rebooted the boot screen said lubuntu instead of Xubuntu and the login screen is now the lubuntu login screen instead of the xubuntu one.

Here is my problem, I can't seen to get past the Lubuntu login screen.

I'm kinda new to linux, i have experimented with it a bit, and installed Lubuntu 12.10 on my new netbook (asus x101ch). Installation did his job, evrything went fine... until i booted up.

I have lubuntu 12.04, and it was working fine until I installed something and I do not remember exactly what I installed because I was trying to build a ruby gem and it required a lot.

now I rebooted and I cannot log in, well, I can but when I do LXDE apparently cannot continue and returns to the login screen.

Lubuntu 12.04 fresh install. I login from the computer. I then login via ssh from another computer. When the first session screen locks after X minutes, my ssh session is killed or at least locked. When I go back to the physical machine and login, then I can continue my ssh session. How can I shut off this behavior so my ssh session is not interrupted?

So, I installed the xubuntu-desktop package on my Lubuntu netbook, but when I went to login to a xubuntu session nothing happened. The screen simply went momentarily blank and then came up with the original login screen again.

I tried with xfce session and got the same result.

During installation of Lubuntu 12.04 I chose to enable auto login.

Now I cannot disable it. In user settings it says password: asked at login. The "don't ask for password" checkbox is not checked.

Hi

This question is usually responded to with "Liveuser does not need a password".

Well believe it or not in some configuration it is not possible to go passed the login screen of Fedora 11 or 12 KDE.

If you just hit enter which should work, it goes black with a blue flasy thing and then back to the login screen.
