Hello,
I've got some Python scripts which I want to open with Spyder (my favorite python IDE). The problem is that when I click "open with" or properties > "open with", I don't see Spyder listed as being installed.
Hello everyone
So I've been using Xscope and boat browsers. When I click on a download link, it would show a download dialog, in which I confirm to download the file. However, I just installed FasterDownloads, a download manager for android, and now when I click on a download link, the download dialog would pop up with the option to "open" the file, or to "download" the file.

I use Ubuntu 11.10.When I right click on a flv video file and go to properties it does'nt open.It gives the message "Creating properties window" - 'You can stop this operation by clicking cancel'. For other files and video types the properties window opens. Also,I am able to play flv videos in VLC and even in Movie Player.
When I'm using PCManFM, I sometimes do the following. I right-click in an empty place in ~/, and choose Make new... --> Empty File. I type some text in it, like 'blabalballabl', and then I save it, e.g., as test.
Now, I double-click this file. Leafpad won't open the file, but instead PCManFM will say that the file is executable. It then asks if I want to execute the file or not.
I know that to execute a file, I use the . command, then the file name with a space between them. But I'm trying to execute a .jar file using the . and it does not work. I went into the properties and marked it as executable and made it run with Java.
Is there a way to execute a file with Java in the Bash Terminal?
I am trying to execute the Minecraft.jar file.
