I setup and configured AppArmor in Ubuntu and I would like to know how AppArmor deals with Packages and Applications which have no AppArmor Profile?
After installing the package with sudo apt-get install apparmor-profiles, I have 175 profiles reported as loaded from aa-status
I cannot imagine I have only 175 programs installed on my box, and I would like to know what AppArmor does to prevent sec
I use apparmor together with libapache2-mod-apparmor to sandbox some websites. However After a recent reinstall it stopped working.
Q: Does AppArmor protect Firefox from the installation and/or activation of un-wanted plug-ins?
particularly this new facebook thing?
Q: How would we evaluate the AppArmor profile for Firefox in this regard ?
note: I'm running the profile provided by Canonical.
Hi
I was installing 10.04. At 38 minutes remaining it froze and stayed that way for about 2 hours. I shut it down and now It's "frozen" for lack of a better term.
I am currently re-setting up the apparmor profile for Firefox 19.0.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 and I am slightly confused.
Hello, I have a few questions about Firefox and default profile for AppArmor. First: should I create additional profiles for usr.lib.firefox.firefox.sh and usr.lib.firefox.firefox? It seems to be important, because Firefox calls /usr/lib/firefox/firefox.sh before it starts. Second: I can still save files in every folder in user home directories[1] without any message.
I did a couple of searches on Google and within Ubuntu Forums, but I did not find anything useful yet.
I have VM Ware Workstation 9.0.0 64 bit and a Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 guest virtual machine. I want to either download, load, and enable an existing Novell AppArmor profile or I want to create my own for VM Ware Workstation 64 bit.
My application relies heavily on AppArmor for security. I use Ubuntu to host it myself, but I have gotten requests from others that want to host in on a Fedora or RHEL machine.
Now I am aware that Redhat prefers people to use SElinux instead of AppArmor. However, I have looked into it, and I think it is going to be very hard to translate my AppArmor profiles to SElinux policies.
