hi i am trying to use custom modelines because i suspect the edid of my tv is not quite right but i am only getting one low resolution with my xorg.conf, does it look correct?
Code:
# nvidia-settings: X configuration file generated by nvidia-settings
# nvidia-settings: version 304.51 (buildmeister@swio-display-x86-rhel47-06.nvidia.com) Tue Sep 18 18:48:10 PDT 2012

I tried to start my nvidia driver using nvidia-xconfig and now my screen resolution is stuck to 640x480. That is the only option displayed in System Settings -> Display. My default resolution was 1366x768.

# nvidia
Hi all,I am using a script found on this forum to switch between two xorg.conf to enable/disable the tv-out, it work like a charm however the resolution isn't working and the error about the resolution appear on the left of the screen.
I've seen this, and I've tried it, and it didn't work. I've tried a few variations. Here is my current version: #nvidia-xconfig: X configuration file generated by nvidia-xconfig
# nvidia-xconfig: version 295.53 (buildmeister@swio-display-x86-rhel47-07.nvidia.com) Sat May 12 00:34:20 PDT 2012

Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 12.10 with GNOME 3.6. My system is Compaq Presario CQ3340IX which has an onboard graphics memory - Intel GMA x4500. But my ubuntu is not detecting it. In my System Settings->Details my graphics is shown as blank. Doesn't that mean my onboard graphics is not detected???
I have Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, GEFORCE GT440, 2 19" VGA monitors with 1280x1024 support.
I have two monitors, and one is in portrait. I would like to be able to rotate one of the X screens so this setup makes sense. I feel like I've tryed everything, but nothing seems to be able to rotate it at all, let alone one screen.
