http://forum.xda-developers.com – I want to root and install a custom ROM because I use my phone alot for music now and I would like the beats for all mod. I am also interested in the HQ camera. I like Sense 3.6 how it is. I have not used sense 4.0 and dont know if I need that. I want all bloat removed. One of my main reasons I havent rooted yet is because I dont want to have to redownload all my apps from the store. If I just back up my SD card will I be fine? (HowTos)

I have finally rooted my phone and am using Link2SD to get rid of all the preinstalled apps that i dont want and it works great... but now there are a couple apps with names that make no sense to me and id like to rename them to something that makes more sense... is there anyway to rename apps on your phone? i have it rooted with Gingerbreak 1.20 and have version 2.2.2 of the Android system...

Really not enjoying the music player in Sense 4. Miss the list view for artists. Album art updating is a miserable process. Miss the sound enhancement options in 3.6. Beats Audio is not too great IMO. Sense 4 player has forced me to download a music app from the Play Store. I never thought for a moment about that with the previous HTC player.

I dont have a problem with sense or anything, I just like to have options and I really like the look of stock Android. I havent found a solution as to why I cant flash Cyanogenmod 9/10 betas yet (keeps aborting installation), so I need to do this without flashing a new ROM. Im currently running viperROM IC3D Beta 3. Im not sure if its promoted to be stable, but so far it is for me.

I have read all the posts about people being unable to stay rooted and run the GFE app at the same time because it detects root and disables itself. I dont really want to stay rooted all the time but I would like to be able to either delete or stop alot of the apps and processes I dont need from constantly running in the background and sucking up battery life.

Is for rooted WF S a possibility to remove recently used apps in notification bar? I'm using stock rom right now, i know in WhatheverMod with sense 3.5 it is removed, maybe i can port it to my sense 3.0?
