Logging safely into unecrypted WiFi

http://androidforums.com – Hi, is there any way I can turn off any data services even on WiFi so that I can log into an unencrypted WiFi and then into a VPN before I do anything else? I have made the experience that even when sync is off apps like facebook and Whatsapp connect before I can log into VPN... Thank you! (General)

Hi everyone, I have searched a lot and can't find any answer so I'm risking this post. Btw I'm french so excuse my English.

I'm on a limited data plan, and I don't have Wifi at work.

ugh i don't know what heck happen yesterday afternoon

ya see i don't use data mobile when i turn on wifi the 4g symbol suppose to show up usually when i'm out in town i turn off wifi anyways after i turn off wifi after haircut 4g symbol was there then i was in the car turn on wifi then it disappear i thought that's not good i connect at home 4g is gone forever

When using my HTC one x lots of times each day my WiFi disconnects by not loading any data but the WiFi logo is still their then after I turn the WiFi off then back on it works for 1-2 hours then it disconnects. This could happen when using the phone, my ps3 does also sometimes disconnect while playing a game but it then re-connects itself without having to turn the ps3 WiFi off.

Wifi signal is great though.. :c

1- What is the correct way to set this phone up for wifi? Here is my dilemma: I signed into starbucks wifi used it for a bit then left got in my car to drive.

I've recently been having a lot of battery issues lately and I think I am close to figuring it out as being related to WiFi and it constantly either downloading, scanning, or both.

When I am connected to WiFi, the download signal is ALWAYS going constantly. I have no apps in the foreground or in task manager showing up. I have no email accounts setup.

when i first my Samsung Galaxy Y S5360, i have no problems browsing via wifi, open nor password protected networks.

after i downloaded several apps, i can connect, but cannot browse, even at mcdonald's or other free wifi services.

kindly help.

p.s. my wife owns the same phone, and we have wifi at home. she can connect and browse, i can't.

help! I can't connect to wifi after logging in to WIfi Hotspot. after connecting to pc/laptop, the error message pops out "The network may no longer be in range". my phone is just 1 inch away from my laptop and I just install the HTC Sync. please help!!!I also installed Foxfi and wifi hotspot - wifi theter.
