I'm new here so I hope this is in the right section. I just bought a new Galaxy S3 I747. The first thing I've noticed is that the power/lock button on the right side of the phone does not need to actually be pressed to lock and unlock the phone. I just swipe my finger over it and the phone locks/unlocks.
Since I got the S5 on Friday, I've noticed that there is often lag to get the lock screen to come up when the phone is asleep (display off). Whether I push the power button or the home button, sometimes it can take 4-5 seconds before the lock screen actually pops up so that I can unlock it.
Sometimes when I use the power button to unlock the screen saver, the pattern lock screen is off center. It's so far off center I can't enter the pattern to unlock the phone. I have to press the power button twice to get a new pattern lock screen that is centered.
I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this with their phone. I've got Executive Assistant running under the lock screen.
The power button on my phone doesn't do anything. It was fine, then a minute later, it just stopped working. The button is fully intact, and presses in and everything. It just doesn't lock/unlock the screen, and I can't use it to turn the phone on or off. It simply doesn't register the button press. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
I need info for any app which can lock/unlock the N4 using any alternative way like gesture etc, I don't just want to press the power button every time. Seems like pressing power button too much would damage it in long run. I tried cover algorithm but it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm on stock rom without root. I'm noob too :p
I'm wondering if there is a way to have a security lock screen as well as a swipe lock screen.
On my previous phone, a MyTouch 4G, I had a pattern lock set to lock after 5 minutes. If the screen turned off (because of timeout or hitting the power button), and I turned it back on within the 5 minutes, I would see the "slide to unlock" screen.
okay so when when i accidently press the power button twice when trying to unlock it, it will lock and turn off the screen and wont allow me to unlock till i reboot it or simply wait about 30-40 seconds. does anyone know why this happens and to stop it from happening again?
I have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, I has set it to auto-lock after 10 sec of in-activeness. After it get lock, still i am able to Switch off my Phone, if i long press the side unlock button of my phone, for around 3 to 4 sec. i.e It gives me option to Switch off the phone.
