Hi,
I am installing Ubuntu 10.04 on a dell R420 and I need to load tg3.ko module on boot for the network card to function. I installed it to the kernel "insmod tg3.ko" and added the module in /etc/modules, but the driver fails to load on boot.
I checked modprobe's blacklist and the driver is not included in the list.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Suddenly, after installing, boot was failed.

I just installed Ubuntu on my system. My system have UEFI. No secure boot enabled. I ran the installation DVD in EFI mode. After installation, everything works fine. But if I update the kernel or do some other changes like installing graphics drivers, the boot screen gets stuck. The OS won't load.
When checking the BIOS boot menu, I found two Ubuntu EFI entries.
