Guys
I am having difficulty finding a way of running Ubuntu Live or installing Ubuntu on a Toshiba Satellite C670D-11K.
For starters I'm new to linux in general.
I've been trying to install BT5 R2, and/or R3 on my toshiba satellite c655 with both live cd's and live USB's. I've downloaded BT5 R3 x32 and x64 GNOME, as well as BT5 R2 x64 KDE (all md5sum verified) and seem to have the same problem with everything I use.

Hi,
I've been trying to boot and install from a live-CD of Fedora 17, on my laptop. The laptop is a HP g6-1150sd with an Radeon graphics-card. But after booting the live-CD, the screen goes black. Is there a boot-option I can give at start-up, so that I can eventually install from the live-CD?
when i try to boot the live cd 6.2 i get the splash screen and then a repeating message:mount:/dev/mapper/live-rw already mounted or /sysroot busymount:/dev/mapper/live-rw already... [by jon123]
I just bought a new laptop from Toshiba and am having alot of problems getting linux to run. It came pre-installed with Windows 8 64 bit and out of the box, it runs well, except that I can't seem to boot into any of my live cd's or live usb's. I believe the problem lies in this whole UEFI business, I've searched around but it seems like there's not that much on this.
I have a Dell XPS 8500 pc, with windows 8, and UEFI, I want a dual boot with windows 8 and ubuntu 12.10(64 bits) ..
I've got a usb-key setup to multi-boot different Linux images.
