List of filenames in folder of share drive to unix

http://www.unix.com – I am trying to get the names of files present in the particular folder to a text file and store that file to a unix location. For that I am using the ftp command . now all the code till the accessing te share drive is working (cd share drive location), but after that I am using a command- cd 'directory share drive put 'ls > /data209/abc/abc.txt(unix location)' but this is not working and I am not able to get the names in a text file at unix location. Please help (HowTos)

hi,

i have a directory at Code: /path/unix with the following files

Code: 1.txt 2.txt 3.txt 4.txt I want to make another file called Code: filenames.txt at a different location called /path/home.

I am not able to cd into the samba like I would normally do:

cd smb://server/folder

It says: "bash: cd: smb/..." No such file or directory.

But if in nautilus I go to the folder and right click it, the location shown in the properties is:

smb://server/folder

Why isn't this working? Thanks

I have googled and searched and can't come up with anything that works for me, so I'll ask the experts on here...

Hello. I wanted to edit the text of the pop-up lists to another color.

As the above image suggests, the text color cannot be seen. So, I wanted to know how to change the pop-up list's text color to white or any other color. I do not know the location of the particular xml file which contains the text color of the list. I searched a lot, and almost all the users that did ask this ques never got

I am just a beginner with Unix and so my skills in Unix commands is limited.

I have a text file in which I have something like this-

10.2.57.44 56538154 3028 120.149.20.197 28909678 3166 10.90.158.161 869126135 6025

In that text file, I have around 1,000,000 rows exactly as above. I am working in SunOS environment. I needed a way to remove everything from that text file leaving only IP Address (first column in the above text file is IP Address).

i have a computer running ubuntu 8.04 that i want to use as a file server. i have an external hard drive connected to it and i would like to share it with both my macbook and a windows pc. i can put stuff in the shared folder and share it but if i try to share a different folder the other computers will ask me a password that i dont know. i would rather have the whole drive shared.
