The Linux Foundation, the organization behind the popular open source operating system, has announced the location for LinuxCon 2010.. industry's premiere Linux conference. This years conference is to be held in Boston, MA

As part of our LinuxCon Preview series, I recently had the opportunity to ask a few questions of our keynote speaker Stormy Peters. Stormy today is executive director for The GNOME Foundation.

Earlier this week I wrote about the VIP/speaker gift we're giving away at LinuxCon Europe (Twitter hashtag: #linuxcon) and shared with the community how anyone could win their own Linux Futbol Club soccer jersey (make sure to read that story, you could still win if you comment). I also mentioned the co-located events taking place at LinuxCon Europe.

The Best Linux Events of 2012 1 year 18 weeks ago

{lfnews}The Linux Foundation today announced its 2012 Linux events and onsite training schedule. Some highlights include a triple-header in San Diego in August: LinuxCon North America, Linux Plumbers Conference and Linux Kernel Summit. Someone better warn San Diego natives that we're taking over their city this summer.

The ongoing heat between Linux kernel maintainers and Android Developers seems to be cooling down after their meet up at Linux Foundation Collaboration summit at San Francisco last week.

Earlier this week we published the full schedule for LinuxCon Europe and Embedded Linux Conference Europe. In many ways, I think the technical content for LinuxCon Europe may be the best collection of speakers we've ever had.

The Linux Foundation announced keynote speakers and panels for LinuxCon, scheduled for August 10-12 in Boston. The show will feature keynote speakers including Virgin America's Ravi Simhambhatla, GNOME's Stormy Peters, the SFLC's Eben Moglen, and Forrester's Jeffrey S. Hammond, and hosts a Linux Kernel Roundtable with Ted T'so and other kernel insiders....
