I'm wondering if anyone here can point me how to hide menu items on KDE Mint 13...
I've got a few applications that would work better on console and i don't want it on the main menu (kickoff)
I am aware that similar questions have been posted on this site many times before, HOWEVER, my question is not how I can show/hide menu items in different fragments. I got that down. The problem is there is a delay between swiping fragments and the new menu items showing or hiding. This delay really detracts from the interface.
I am able to edit the menu under "Application". But I am not able to edit the menu under "Places" and "System". I would like to remove the "Package manager" and "Control panel" menu items under "System".
I'm using Mate as my desktop environment. I really liked the Mint's Mate menu so I installed it from the AUR. My problem is that the icon to launch my virtualbox GUI is not on the Mint Mate menu. It IS on the standard Mate menu. So my question is...

The view as follows below in the image:
The Menu not looking the correct way, and the same when I right click on desktop.
