I installed Linux Mint 13 (Maya) on my Macbook Pro using rEFIt, and ran through the instructions here to get wireless working. Now I can see a bunch of different networks, but I almost always fail to connect to them. I get constant notificaitons that my wireless is disconnected, because it keeps trying to connect, to no avail.
The wireless actually has worked one or two times.
Hi. This is an old problem for me, but apparently insolveable. Thought I'd try again, maybe someone here can help.
I cannot use the wireless internet connection in my house. My computer sees the connection. It is ChinaNet-zbgJ. The password is xutuhamh
The router is brand new, installed yesterday. The internet provider upgraded me and made the connection a bit faster.
I have recently done a clean install of Ubuntu 10.10 on my eee B202. I have a few little niggling problems that I am trying to sort out. One of them is connecting to my wireless network.
For a little more secturity, I have my wireless network set up such that it does not broadcast the SSID.
I recently installed Ubuntu 10.4 on my new Dell Studio 1558. After installing the broadcom proprietary driver for my wireless card, the wireless for my laptop worked fine.
My wireless worked when I first installed. I needed to turn it off for a while, so I clicked "off" in the pulldown dialog. I used the wired network for awhile, but when I went to turn my wireless back on, it started connecting for half a second then dropping the connection. I can use the wired interface but my office doesnt have a wire so I have to go out into a common room to work.
So I recently installed Ubuntu on my Acer Aspire V3-551 laptop. I have an Atheros AR5BWB222 wireless adapter.
Everything works fine except for the wireless. I can sometimes connect to the wireless, but most of the time it will be making an attempt to connect and then enver connect.
Hello:
I am on Lucid 64 bit on a Dell M6400. I use both wired and wireless networks at home, with wired being my preferred method when in my home office. When I am connected via the wire, I turn off the wireless NIC via the switch on the laptop.
Hi there,
I just installed/and updated Xubuntu 10.10 on an older Toshiba Satellite laptop with a belkin wireless card.
When I start up I get a notification that wireless networks are available, and I can choose and connect to my network just fine.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 as the main OS on a desktop I built. It's set to lock the screen after 10 min. or so of inactivity.
