Hello everyone,
Thanks for making this year’s plumbers conference such an enjoyable event. Next year, we’re planning to co-locate Plumbers with the Kernel Summit and LinuxCon in San Diego from 29-31 August. The current plan is that Plumbers and LinuxCon would run as parallel but separate events. To accommodate the parallelism, we’re still planning on keeping the numbers for Plumbers down to 30
PyCon 2010 will take place February 17 to 25 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference is organized and run by volunteer Python programmers; the users' perspective governs everything from talk selection to conference cost, making an exceptionally worthwhile conference. Registration is open now, and early-bird registration discounts apply through January 6.
The Planning Committee for the Linux Plumbers Conference (LPC) is happy to announce that submissions to the “micro-conferences” portion of the conference is now open. The micro-conferences are working session focused on specific infrastructural “plumbing” in the Linux system – kernel subsystems, core libraries, windowing system, etc.
Given that both the submissions and the author-notification deadlines were pushed out two weeks, we are also pushing the early bird registration deadline out two weeks, to June 15, 2011.
The Linux Foundation's CE Linux Forum (CELF) workgroup announced a call for participation (CFP) for this year's Embedded Linux Conference (ELC), to be held Feb. 15-17, 2012, in Redwood Shores, California, with submissions due Jan. 6. O'Reilly Media, meanwhile, issued its own CFP, due Jan. 12, for its Open Source Convention (OSCON) 2012, scheduled for July 16-20, 2012 in Portland, Oregon....
Live coverage of LinuxCon and CloudOpen 2012 starts again this afternoon at 4 p.m. with a keynote from Linus Torvalds.
See the full conference schedule for a list of keynote speakers.
Just a reminder that there is less than two weeks remaining before the late-registration deadline, at which point the registration fee will increase significantly. So please check out our shiny near-final schedule and register today.
Besides which, this year’s Linux Plumbers Conference is well on its way to filling up, which means that unfortunately someone will likely miss out.
Earlybird registration for Linux Plumbers Conference is now open at $275 per attendee ($100 for students). Registration details are here. Earlybird pricing will remain in effect until 31 May 2011, so register soon.
