Linux 2.6.35.7
I’m announcing the release of the 2.6.35.7 kernel. This is only needed if you run Xen, there was a typo that caused problems. My fault, sorry.
Linux 2.6.36-rc6 Kernel Released
The Linux 2.6.36 kernel is just about here.
An enhanced Ext4 filesystem, an optimised TCP stack and support for thin provisioning in the Device Mapper are some of the most important new features of the freshly released Linux 3.2.
The open source developers are working on drivers to support the DirectX 11 graphics cards in AMD's Radeon HD 5000 series. While the proprietary AMD drivers have been supported for some time, not even the latest, recently released version co-operates with X Server 1.7, which has been available for ...
I just built the latest kernel from source and all went well, except when I boot into the new kernel I have no graphics acceleration. When I boot into the other kernel (3.2.something) I have nvidia drivers.

Linus Torvalds has released version 2.6.32 of the Linux kernel.
If you’ve ever used Linux, you’ve probably noticed that a lot of hardware works straight out of the box, no questions asked. No motherboard drivers need to be installed, no ethernet drivers, in most cases no wireless drivers, and not even graphics drivers (depending on your stance on open source vs. proprietary).
Just two and a half months after the the release of 2.6.32, Linux 2.6.33 has been released with highlights including a promising open source driver for NVIDIA graphics hardware, a replication solution to prevent server down times, "ATA Trim" support and a host of new and improved drivers
But when i use Windows 7 it is so silent i barely hear any sound from fan. I'm using standard graphics card drivers released by Ati i'm not using additional video drivers which are open source. Windows 7 is so hardware efficient it is running so efficiently on 5 years old laptop & Linux is struggling to run efficiently on it.
