In a recent development release 1.5.14, Wine has announced a number of new features. Wine is a popular application for Linux, which provides a Windows compatibility layer. It has been used to run games, applications, and a number of tools which are unique to Windows.

I know that normally you would need to go into the Control Panel in Windows, but seeing as this is Linux, I don't think that will work. I was trying to install the .NET framework for a game I wanted to play. Now, I know people say that PlayOnLinux is much better, but the game's site said to use Wine (they don't have native Linux compatibility yet), so I chose to use Wine.
