My thoughts: Has the much ballyhooed growth of Ubuntu as a desktop been at the expense of other Linux distributions rather than chipping away at Windows and OS X? That is, how many new Ubuntu installs replace another Linux versus how many replace Windows? How many Ubuntu installs are done alongside Windows in dual-boot mode? How are they used?
