If there's any lesson to be learned in high school, it's that popularity is a fickle mistress. One day, you can be riding high on the strength of your awesome gaming skills, say, and the next, a fleeting fashion faux pas can bring you crashing down again. But maybe that was just Linux Girl. In any case, popularity is nothing if not changeable, as Ubuntu has aptly demonstrated in recent weeks.
I need to find the relationship between signal strength and distance from my router to my computer. I need a program that displays average signal strength and i will plot signal strength and distance on a graph. I'm running linux so i need a program that will give a signal percentage and not signal bars. What program can I use or mod to give me these #s
Customize Ubuntu’s new Unity desktop, all from an easy-to-use interface. Confity allows you to re-enable the Ubuntu system tray, resize or hide Ubuntu’s dock and remove the Fisher-Price color scheme.I called Ubuntu 11.04 a big step foward for Linux, but not everyone agrees. Ubuntu’s Unity interface is brand new, and reaction to it has been mixed to say the least.
Can anyone recommend an app that will allow me to log the signal strength of my phone? I need to run some tests to see where the mobile signal starts to drop out and what strength it is.
So I have a big problem and am seeking the help of the lovely Ubuntu community.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 LTS installed on my machine and it has been running great since it came out when I installed it. But after a recent update a month back it caused something very strange to happen. Under my 'recent' lens and 'app' lens in unity all my applications are gone (or at least will not show up).
Most recent Ubuntu 12.04 seems to be quite nice and Unity (3D/2D) works fine for me, however not on my old Acer Aspire One any more.
There was a times, when I switched from Windows XP to Ubuntu and was happy about system looks, effects and speed...
Slow Mobile broadband connection is not something a typical Linux user wants but in some case when no other options (cable broadband or 3G) are available it’s really useful.
These days, it often feels like an operating system is only as cool as its “apps” — which are separate from applications, mind you. And so it’s not surprising to see Canonical pushing hard to deliver more apps to Ubuntu users, an effort highlighted most recently by the upcoming AppsSprint.
I finally unlocked, rooted, S-OFFed and flashed Leslie's radio fix on my EVO V but I can't seem to find where it would show the signal strength (dBm) anywhere on the phone including where it usually is.
Does anyone know where it is on the Midnight ROM because I want to see my new signal strength with Leslie's radio fix.
Thanks.
