Hi
I have very basic network settings in my home. Cable connected to my Linksys Wireless G router. My wife and I connect to that using our laptop.
Yes. I did enable encryption to connect. Also my wireless printer is connected to that.
For some reason, last night around 12:30 AM, the printer acted like it was going to print. Then it didn't print any thing. Again it did that one hour later.
Hi,
The problem I am going to discuss is not related to the ubuntu or any other OS, Its just a wireless network related issue I want to resolve. I hope some one will definitely help me.
In our office network we have LAN network with proxy server and all computers are under a domain controller. Maximum computers are on wired connection.
Hi guys, I've been having trouble with my home router since i got a smartphone (xperia active).
I've had my current router for over two years, have the desktop wired to it and a laptop which uses wireless, and never had any particular issues. Eversince my phone got on the wireless network this causes the router to lockup in random and unpredictable ways.
Home Net Topology
ISP/WAN > Modem > Router (linksys) >Router(CISCO 851W) > (serial cable) 2008 R2
I have the loopback cable connected from my server to the CISCO router. The router is connected to the router in the office with a crossover cable. It is connected to Lan port 4 (Linksys) and the cable is plugged in to the WAN port(CISCO).
How to limit bandwidth speed from a router for a devices on a network ?
There are several devices accessing the internet thru a wireless network. I cannot change settings directly on the client-computers, but can have full access to the router.
I've run into a really odd problem that I previously thought was a duff router, but turns out to be linked to when Ubuntu doesn't shutdown properly.
Occasionally I've had Ubuntu stall whilst shutting down (although I've yet to dig into why), and had to forcibly power off my PC. For some reason, this kills all the wired connections on my router (Linksys WRT56G version 7).
I have a Linksys router and I've noticed that when I look for connected PC's on the router, the name of my computer and MAC address of the wireless device appears.
However, I've noticed that for some devices it appears only the device MAC address, without a name.
For example, Apple computers connected to the router appear without a name.

I'll start off that I'm new to Linux. A couple months ago I tried installing Ubuntu 11.10 on a laptop (HP). The install went great, however when setting up my wireless network, it caused my router (Buffalo) to crash. I could not login to the routers http interface even on a wired PC. I removed power from the router and shutdown the laptop. Powered the router back up.
