A note to have before reading this topic is that I do not own Windows 7. I have to thank Microsoft for making Windows Vista however, which led me to the world of Linux.
EULA = End User Licence Agreement
Pronounced YOU-LAH
I ran 'sudo apt-get install hal' and it started doing something until it showed me this message:
"TrueType core fonts for the Web EULA END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR MICROSOFT SOFTWARE IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY: This Microsoft End-User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal ag
everytime i got into terminal and run
sudo apt-get install conky
i get screen pop up in my terminal saying..
"TrueType core fonts for the Web EULA
│
│ END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR MICROSOFT SOFTWARE
│
│ IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY: This Microsoft End-User License Agreement
│ ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you..."
dont know how to get past this and continue with Conky instalation.
I just bought a new laptop and, I usually just wipe Windows off and install Linux but, a long time ago, I read about being able to get a refund for Windows if I refuse the EULA or something like that. Based on what I read, Microsoft could either give me the refund or tell me to return the laptop upon not accepting the EULA.
I am planning to install a new blank hard drive on my computer but i cannot find the windows iso file i need(windows 7 starter) so can i just install ubuntu instead when i put the new hard drive in? i dont have a cd/dvd rom reader on my laptop. i can only install from usb stick.
and no windows 7 starter's iso file cannot be found ANYWHERE!
I can't install Ubuntu restricted extras because a Microsoft EULA pops up that I cannot respond to, so I cannot finish the total install. I have tried omitting the Microsoft bits but that doesn’t work either.
Lovers and users of free and open source software are a hardy bunch. They've seen it all: Microsoft EULAs, DRM, UEFI, proprietary software and constant attempts to prevent end users jailbreaking and rooting the devices they paid for with hard-earned cash. If you think you've seen and heard it all, well, you haven't.
I am on a netbook and got recommended to try Ubuntu. So i am going to run it with W7 Starter still as my OS. But if I decide to go with Ubuntu as my main OS is there any way to go back to W7 Starter if for whatever reason I change my mind?
Sorry if it is a simple, silly question. I am unsure so thought I would ask.
Many Thanks,
Niall
When installing this software from "Ubuntu Software Centre" I mistakenly failed to accept the EULA. The package appeared to install OK but actually hadn't. Now if I remove and re-install the package I get a failed EULA pop-up with no option to correct this.
How do I recover from this situation?
