Last night we reported that the LG Optimus G Nexus will launch in November, and now we have some more details. Apparently devices were handed out last week for testing and one source, who is not a Google employee, divulged some information to Android and Me.
So I hear that multiple manufacturers will be given the chance to release their own their own versions of the Google nexus. So far I've heard of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2, the Sony Xperia Nexus, and the LG Optimus Nexus. If that's the case, and let's say HTC and Motorola also make a nexus, what would you guys go for? What do you guys be hoping for in specs and pricing?
I know this has probably been asked a million times over but I am at my wits end trying to decide on a phone for my Verizon to AT&T swap. I was leaning heavily on the Nexus 4 but I have played with the HTC One, SGS 4, and Optimus G Pro. All of these have their pros and cons. The thought of a true Nexus phone excites me as I currently use the 'fake' Galaxy Nexus.
Whenever people talk about Android phones, LG generally doesn’t come up in the conversation. Companies like Samsung, HTC, and Motorola seem to get the most press, but there’s no question LG has a big following. Even so, they never came out with a phone that put them over the top.
There is a good chance that the Nexus 5 will be basing off the LG Optimus G Pro, which has been officially announced on Japanese carrier DoCoMo and here the specs:
The LG Optimus G Pro boasts a 5-inch 1080p display, nearly no bezel, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage with microSDXC card slot, 3000mAh battery, 13MP rear camera and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of
The other day we reported that not only will Google change the Nexus program, but that LG will definitely have a device dubbed the LG Optimus G Nexus. Then we had a hands-on report from a tipster who claims to have the device. Now MoDaCo posted some details of their own.
I know the Optimus G on AT&T and Sprint is on many an Android fan’s wish list this fall. However, this bit of news may curb that enthusiasm just a bit. Our pals over at Android Central have personally written LG and received this response from LG themselves:
The Optimus G doesn’t support an unlocked bootloader.
Straight and to the point.
April 22 looks to be a busy day for Sprint as the LG Viper and Galaxy Nexus should be released, but they are adding another device, the LG Optimus Elite. This one is similar to the Viper in that it’s eco-friendly, but it’s more of a budget phone. Since April 22 is Earth Day, it makes sense releasing it then.
Earlier this week we reported on news that Google was getting close to releasing a new Nexus device, consistent with apparent plans to release five such devices to celebrate the five year anniversary of Android. Possible candidates for Google’s next Nexus device include LG hardware, possibly an LG Optimus G based device.
