According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), smartphones are expected to rise about 32.7% during this year which should reach in a total number of 958.8 million units, up from 722.5 million from the previous year. Now days smartphones aren’t considered a luxury item as it once was just a couple years back.
As Microsoft finalizes its acquisition of Nokia by fully merging Nokia into the larger Microsoft organization resulting in layoffs of 18,000 employees, they indicate they will also be putting an end to Nokia’s efforts to produce Android-based smartphones.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon series processors are known to be some of the best CPUs on the market for mobile devices, but the company isn’t known for manufacturing any other internals for phones and tablets.
