USB stick. in laptop. Turn on. Boot. "Welcome to SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10!". No Booglogo gfx like when DVD boots for some reason. input "boot: _" Route1: typed linux and pressed enter. Result: gets to: Code: md: Autodetecting RAID arrays. md: autorun ... md: ... autorun DONE. VFS: Cannot open root device "<NULL>" or uknown-block(3,4) Please append a correct "root=" option; here are the available partitionsL Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on uknown-block(3,4) Route2: pressed enter. Its very quick but it does this in a nutshell: Code: loading linux, initrd (lots of dots) starting udev... openSUSE intallation program v3.0.20 Linux Products GmbH activating usb devices... then CLS /run_restore: line 17: /proc/splash: No Such file or Directory No DVD drive found! Press a key to reboot. Route5: The most sucessful! linux initrd=initrd splash=silent showopts Result: Runs all the way through, gets to a windowed program called ">>> Linuxrc v3.0.20 (Kernel 2.6.22.5-31-default) <<<" Code: could not find the openSUSE Repository. Activating manual setup program Main Menu: Settings, System Information, Kernel Modules (Hardware Drivers), Start installation or System, Verify Installation CD-ROM/DVD, Eject CD, Exit or Reboot, Power off Cant find anything on the usb drive (obviously?) so what do I do now? So yeah. This is where I'm at and quite stuck... not sure what other flags there are to use, what I have to move around or rename ... Any guidance greatly appreciated. Oh wait! Just had an idea.
